Funding Needs
Funds donated by generous donors and raised at events are directed towards the Field Experience Ambassador Program and Special Projects such as the Bond Outdoor Classroom currently being developed.
Field Experience Ambassador Program
The Ambassador program is funded by the PLC Foundation. Currently, an amazing team of 12 Ambassadors with education and natural science backgrounds expertly teach each Field Experience. There have been 104 field experiences led by this team during the 2024-2025 school year!
As the Foundation’s most critical funding need, your support is essential to ensure that Ambassadors can continue to lead children in meaningful field experiences.
Bond Confluence Outdoor Classroom
Located on the south side of PLC’s InSTEM on the Prairie Building, the “Bond Patio” will be an outdoor classroom focused on water resources and management in Colorado. A mural planned for the south wall will depict the geologic strata (layers) underlying the northern Front Range of Colorado. In addition to the mural, the Bond Patio will include; a large rock seating/kinetic play area on a slope metaphorically representing the Mummy Range headwater of Cache la Poudre River, a depiction on the concrete pad of the Cache la Poudre River’s course from headwater to confluence, a stream table to provide a learning model of hydrologic function, representative plant biomes found in the Cache la Poudre Watershed, and site for various water related experimentation.
Funding dependent, a canopy over the patio will increase usability of the Bond Classroom and protect the mural from the elements. The Bond classroom is framed by outstanding views of Colorado’s Northern Front Range.
Commemorative Bricks will also be available. More information to follow on donating and placing a brick on the patio area with your name, the name of a loved one, or a personalized message!
